Capitol Steps will bring their unique brand of musical political satire to campus April 5

The musical political satire group, Capitol Steps, will perform for the President's Lecture Series at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at the Field House.

The troupe includes current and former Congressional staffers who monitor events and personalities on Capitol Hill, in the Oval Office and in other centers of power around the world and then turn the latest news into song and parody.

The ensemble tours throughout the United States, performing nearly 400 shows a year, including a regular weekend gig in Washington., D.C.

The Capitol Steps have released 20 albums. Among them are "First Lady and the Tramp" (1999), "Sixteen Scandals" (1997) and their latest recording, "It's Not Over 'Til the First Lady Sings." Recent song titles include "My Staff Belongs to Daddy," "Pardon Me, Bill" and "Iraq Is Robbin.'"
