Old Dominion's homecoming parade may not have 76 trombones leading it, but it does promise everything from marching bands and floats to celebrities and royalty.
Organizers of the parade are hoping for a big turnout from the campus community to enjoy the spectacle, which begins at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27.
The parade will start behind Webb Center on Elkhorn Avenue, go east on 49th Street, north on Bluestone, east on Bolling, and then head south on Hampton Boulevard to 43rd Street. The best viewing areas will be along Hampton Boulevard, where southbound lanes will be closed temporarily for the parade. The northbound lanes will be converted to two-way traffic during this time.
The Alumni Association will have a tent set up near the Education Building with hot drinks and treats for parade-goers.
