Old Dominion recently appointed Don Stansberry as director of student activities and leadership. He will officially join the university July 10. He succeeds Walter Kimbrough, who left the university in January to become vice president for student services at Albany State University.
Stansberry most recently served as associate director of student activities at Towson University in Maryland. Prior to his work at Towson, he was assistant director of student activities at Western Illinois University and served as a member of the residence life staff at Defiance College in Ohio.
Leadership development, campus activities and Greek life programs are among Stansberry's areas of expertise. He has also assumed leadership roles in prominent student services national organizations.
"Mr. Stansberry brings a depth of experience in the areas of leadership development, campus activities and Greek life programs," said Dana D. Burnett, vice president for student services.
Stansberry holds a master's of education degree in college student personnel administration and a bachelor's degree in organizational communication from Ohio University.
