April 2 concert at Foreman Field to feature
pop artist Edwin McCain and The Roots

Contemporary pop artist Edwin McCain, best known for his hit “I’ll Be,” will be among three acts featured at Old Dominion’s spring concert at Foreman Field Sunday, April 2.

The concert will kick off at 3 p.m. with opening band LuckyTown. McCain will appear at 4 p.m., followed by the R&B, hip-hop and jazz group, The Roots, at 6 p.m. The rain site will be the Field House.

Advance tickets are $2 for students and $5 for the general public; they are $10 the day of the show. Tickets are on sale at the Campus Information Center in Webb Center and at Ticketmaster.

Lava/Atlantic recording artist Edwin McCain’s third label release, “Messenger,” is a follow-up to his 1997 breakthrough album, “Misguided Roses.” That album – highlighted by the Top 10 hit “I’ll Be” – earned the South Carolina-based singer/songwriter his first gold album certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. The album’s first single, “I Could Not Ask for More,” was originally featured on Atlantic’s companion soundtrack to the Warner Brothers’ film “Message in a Bottle.”

The concert is sponsored by Old Dominion and WPTE – “The Point” (94.9), and produced by Whisper Entertainment.
