The following faculty and administrators were quoted or featured in recent issues of national newspapers and magazines:

James V. Koch, president, was quoted in a Feb. 23 USA Today story and a Jan. 19 New York Times story about e-commerce as a new college major. He was also quoted in a Feb. 18 Chronicle of Higher Education story about Virginia Tech’s high-profile football season and the school’s efforts to leverage that into positive publicity in other areas.

J. Taylor Sims, dean of the College of Business and Public Administration, was quoted in a Feb. 21 Washington Times story about e-commerce as a new college major. The story was also carried by the Knight-Ridder Tribune Business News service.

Stephen K. Medvic, assistant professor of political science and geography, was quoted in a Feb. 22 Washington Post story about John McCain’s prospects in the Feb. 29 Virginia primary.

Thomas Mastaglio, director of the Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center, was quoted in a Feb. 21 story about the center’s projects and the reluctance on the part of businesses to embrace modeling and simulation.
