ReNeé Dunman named
director of EO/AA office

ReNeé Dunman (formerly ReNeé Milligan) has been named director of Old Dominion University's Office of Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action, following a national search. The announcement was made May 4 by President James V. Koch.

Dunman, who has worked in the office three and a half years, served the past year as acting director following the resignation of Ruth Jones. Previously, she held the positions of EO coordinator and EO manager in the office.

"During her time as acting director, Ms. Dunman performed very well in the position, and I believe she will continue to be a strong asset to the university community," said President Koch. The EO/AA office is responsible for coordinating and monitoring Old Dominion's affirmative action plans, and advising, reporting and implementing all matters related to compliance with federal and state equal opportunity and affirmative action legislation. This includes monitoring the employment and educational policies, practices and procedures of the university; assisting with the resolution of discrimination and employee relations complaints; and providing education programming for students, faculty and staff. The office also assists the university in clarifying diversity issues.

An attorney licensed to practice law in Virginia, Dunman received her bachelor's degree in mass communications from VCU, her master's in communications from NSU and her law degree from the University of Baltimore.
