'Macbeth' opens Feb. 13 at Univ. Theatre
Old Dominion University Theatre will present William Shakespeare's classic tale of ambition and greed, "Macbeth," Feb. 13 through March 1. The theater company once again welcomes guest director Leon Ingulsrud, of the New York Saratoga International Theatre Institute, who returns to the campus on the heels of his well-received Stables Theatre production of Eugene O'Neil's "The Hairy Ape."
The Old Dominion production of "Macbeth" blends Shakespeare's text with the expressive movement techniques of theater master Tadashi Suzuki and New York avant-garde theater artist Anne Bogart. Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the University Theatre. Tickets are $10 general admission for Friday and Saturday performances, $8 general admission for all other performances, $7 for senior citizens and non-Old Dominion students; and $5 for Old Dominion students with university identification. Call the box office at 683-5305 for reservations.
