Here at the Honors College we are happy to report that we offer many of the benefits of a small liberal arts college within the framework of a large, diversified university.  Welcome to our web page where you will find answers to your many questions about honors at Old Dominion University. This site now offers a place for the inquisitive-minded, for potential students, for current ones and for our illustrious alumni. In addition to arranging for honors courses, the College also provides assistance to its students in a variety of ways:

An ongoing honorarium/scholarship, first day priority registration, faculty privileges at the library, help with adjusting to university life, funded undergraduate research opportunities, and more.

The Honors College also assists students who wish to do graduate study by mentoring qualified candidates for entry into the Rhodes, Truman, Marshall, Mitchell, and Jack Kent Cooke competitions. Our alumni have been granted graduate scholarships for up to $300,000! Above all, though, we are proud of the character of our students and strive to make them and their families feel comfortable with and excited by the pursuit of knowledge and, ultimately, of wisdom. We hope you'll decide to join with us and share our quest for a better future for all.

Louis H. Henry, Ph.D.
Dean
