Jennifer Kingsley

Jennifer Kingsley

A native of St. Louis, Jennifer Kingsley received her bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Arizona in 1996. After graduating, Kingsley attended Northern Arizona University and completed her master's degree in educational leadership and served as the graduate assistant for Greek life in the Office of Residence Life.

Kingsley began her career in higher education as the assistant director of leadership development at the University of Texas at Arlington. In 1999, she joined the Old Dominion University community as the coordinator for student organizations where she advised the fraternity and sorority community, coordinated the campus volunteer programs and worked with student organizations in leadership and organization development. In 2001, the Zeta Pi chapter of Theta Chi presented her with a Citation of Honor for Outstanding Service to the fraternity.

Currently, she serves as the coordinator for off-campus students enhancing their involvement in campus activities and programs. Additionally, she oversees the campus volunteer programs, including supervising the Campus Information Center and Event Management Office. At the University's Founders' Day in 2003, the ODU Relay For Life received the Town-N-Gown Community Service Award. Kingsley also serves on the University Community Service Committee, and during the spring semester she helped coordinate the first Community Care Day. During that clean-up day, Kingsley's 97 volunteers collected close to 150 bags of trash from three neighborhoods. Kingsley also brought Relay for Life back to campus in 2000. Each year they have exceeded their goal and last spring raised over $43,000.

In 2003, Kingsley received the Outstanding Public Relations Award from American College Personnel Association's Commission on Commuter and Adult Learners. During ACPA's annual conference, she facilitated two presentations and was later featured in the Nontraditional Students Report regarding her presentation and the commuter programming and resources she coordinates at ODU.

Kingsley is currently pursing a Ph.D. in urban services with a higher education cognate at Old Dominion University.
