With a degree in finance from Old Dominion University in 1993, Brian Holland began his career in the mortgage industry. Three years later, Brian and his business partner Rick Gregory founded Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group, a real estate development company and title insurance agency. When Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group opened its doors, Holland was the only employee in a small office on Virginia Beach Boulevard. Now Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group has over 275 employees with 26 offices throughout Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida.
Holland is currently a partner in a luxury condominium project, the Sanctuary at False Cape, in Sandbridge. He has also been involved with many real estate development projects, attempting to ease the overwhelming demand for housing in the Hampton Roads region.
Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group and Brian Holland have received numerous professional accolades, including Inc. magazine's 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies; Virginia's Fantastic 50 Companies; voted by Virginian-Pilot readers as the Best Mortgage Company in Virginia Beach for six consecutive years, and as one of Inside Business' "40 under 40" business leaders.
Holland is most proud of Atlantic Bay Mortgage's community support. In 2003, for the third consecutive year, Atlantic Bay was Virginia's lead state sponsor for all multiple sclerosis walks. Atlantic Bay also created and administers an "Elderly Angel Tree Program" that gave over 3,000 gifts to needy seniors last Christmas.
Holland is a charter member of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization. He resides in Bay Island in Virginia Beach with his wife, Jennifer '95, and their two children.
