Welcome to the Website
Old Dominion University is a vibrant and dynamic institution of higher learning. It is fueled by our commitment to embrace the diversity of our students, faculty, staff, and administration. Our accomplishments as a university are a result of the convergence of talent, intellect, and creativity that occur on a daily basis within our classrooms and campus.
This website showcases the successes of our diversity. I encourage you to click on the "Check it Out!" section which provides information regarding various university sponsored events and activities celebrating diverse cultures, backgrounds, and points of view. Click on to the "Diversity Champions" section which will introduce you to students, faculty/staff/administration, and Hampton Roads citizens who celebrate our differences and serve as social leaders and educators. Explore the "New Traditions" section which honors the university's diversity accomplishments. This website offers access to training opportunities, diversity-related policies of the university, and research that identifies the tangible and intangible benefits of diversity. It provides information on organizations within the university that serve to increase tolerance and promote equity.
The website also provides access to ODU Compliance Officers, who work to enforce the civil rights of all members of the university community. It offers links to other, equally committed university offices and organizations, like, "The Women's Center", "SAFE Place", "Human Resources", and the "Office of Intercultural Affairs."
You are welcome to explore this website and invited to return. If you have any questions or comments regarding various diversity-related issues, please do not hesitate to contact me at (757) 683-3141.
