Ticketing Information
Due to the limited amount of guest seating, tickets are required for all guests attending the graduation ceremony. Tickets are not required for children under 2 years of age.
How to Get Tickets
Tickets are only available to eligible candidates for graduation who have both filed the Application for Graduation and submitted the Commencement Participation Form. If these two criteria are met, the student will receive one student ticket and up to six reserved guest tickets. Eligible graduates who register after the deadline for a ceremony may be offered fewer than six tickets, dependent on the remaining ticket supply. Tickets must be picked up during Reserved Ticket Distribution (see below for details and Graduating Student Information for dates).
Ticket Distribution
Reserved ticket distribution takes place at the Campus Information Center in Webb University Center during the period indicated on the Graduating Student Information page. The Campus Information Center has day, evening, and weekend hours to allow ample time for all candidates to pick up their tickets. You may call the Campus Information Center to confirm hours at 757.683.5914.
Tickets must be picked up, in person, by the graduation candidate with a photo ID (see policies). If you wish to send someone in your place to pick up your tickets, that person will need the following:
- a copy of your photo ID
- a signed note giving that specific person permission to pick up your tickets
- his/her own photo ID
Extra Tickets
If there are any additional guest tickets available they will be distributed solely through an online lottery system (Extra Ticket Lottery). Graduation candidates must have filed the Application for Graduation and submitted the Commencement Participation Form in order to enter the lottery. The lottery form will be available on this website beginning the first day of Reserved Ticket Distribution until the end of the lottery entry period (see Graduating Student Information for dates).
Candidates may enter the lottery for up to 10 additional tickets. Tickets are awarded individually, so an entrant may not receive his/her full request. Every entrant will receive notification of award, regardless if he/she has been awarded extra tickets. Extra tickets are not guaranteed.
Campus Information Center staff do not have extra tickets.
