Participation Process

Eligibility

Students who wish to participate in the commencement ceremony must be "Pending" for graduation for the current semester. Before proceding, you should check LEO Online to verify that your graduation status is listed as "Pending." Please visit Applying for Graduation for more information on applying for graduation and changing your status to "Pending."

Special note for August graduates: August graduation candidates should participate in the May commencement preceding their graduation date. These students' graduation status should be listed as "Pending" for August.

Participation Form

All students who wish to participate in the commencement ceremony must complete the Commencement Participation Form. This form must be submitted online. No faxed or printed copies can be accepted. The Participation Form must be completed by the prescribed deadline. Failure to meet the deadline could result in a reduced number of guest tickets for the ceremony.

All submitted Participation Forms are subject to a check for eligibility. Students who submit Participation Forms with questionable eligibility will be contacted via email.

If you have not registered for the May 2008 ceremony and you wish to participate, you must send an email to commencement@odu.edu and request a manual entry registration form. You must include your full name and UIN in order to receive the form. Manual entry forms are sent via email only.
