English Intern
Intercollegiate Athletics

Sara

I was born and raised in Sylvan Lake, Michigan, which is to me one of the best places in America. Due to Michigan's pristine wilderness, I've always been an outdoor enthusiast. This is part of the reason I chose to attend Old Dominion. In addition, I am a member of the lacrosse team and spend my time with them goaltending. Coming down here for lacrosse has been one of the finest experiences of my life. I've met some of my greatest friends, and have grown exponentially during my time here. My interests include: reading, writing, lacrosse, yoga, travel, music, my grandma, friends, pool, and harmonica.  My major is professional and technical writing with a minor in public law.

English Intern
Career Management Center

I am currently interning at the CMC as a professional writing intern. However, my emphasis as an English major is Creative Writing, and I am a Women's Studies minor. I have taken a few courses centered around technical writing and advanced composition, but most of my work experience has been in the food service industry while attending school. I want to blog, not only to record my steps and experiences here at the CMC, but to also show people with more abstract backgrounds and majors in the Arts and Letters department, that their skills transcend their passions. I would love to be an example for students like myself, who never thought they could do much but struggle as starving artists. I think this weblog would be a good balance to the others, and provide proof that students who feel helpless and skill-less, can do many things to advance their knowledge and careers.
