Kenneth Ampy

Mr. Kenneth Ampy was appointed to the Board of Visitors July 1, 2005. He currently serves as Chair of the Academic & Research Advancement Committee and as a member of the Executive and Student Advancement Committees.

Mr. Ampy is the Chief Executive Officer of Astyra Corporation. In this role, he is responsible for the company's overall leadership, direction, and vision; raising the business community's awareness of the corporation. Under his leadership, Astyra Corporation has been the recipient of numerous awards. Mr. Ampy co-founded Automation Concepts, the precursor of Astyra, in 1997.

Mr. Ampy is very active in the business community and is directly involved with several business and civic organizations including the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation (Board Member), Virginia High-Tech Partnership (Board Member), the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce (Board Member), Virginia Council of CEO's, Leadership Metro Richmond, and Team Up Richmond (Board Member).

Both alumni of Old Dominion, Mr. Ampy ('90) and his wife LaTrice ('91) have two children and reside in Midlothian, Virginia.
