ODU Fares Well In State Budget

In the 2004 General Assembly session, Old Dominion received the second-highest allocation of additional funding among state colleges and universities to support base operating budgets and enrollment growth.

President Roseann Runte is hopeful that ODU’s $18 million allocation, which will be added over the 2004-06 biennium, is a beginning step in General Assembly recognition of the ongoing need for “base adequacy” funding.

The budget also authorizes $55 million to support capital projects, including $16.5 million for renovation of the Health and Physical Education Building. Additionally, it increases student financial aid by $438,034 per year and provides for faculty and staff raises.
