Longtime ODU supporter Barry M. Kornblau ’71 of Glen Allen, Va., was honored May 22 at the dedication ceremony for the university’s new alumni center, which now bears his name. Kornblau, whose significant gift helped make the center a reality, and other donors were recognized at the event. Among those attending the ceremony were ODU President Roseann Runte, 2003-04 Alumni Association President Boyd T. Allison Jr. ’79, Donna S. Morris ’77, who chairs the Alumni Center Committee, Lauren Conner ’79, president-elect of the Alumni Association; board member Maxine Somerville ’85; and Lakeisha Phelps ’00, an ODU admissions counselor. Since opening its doors in March, the Kornblau Center, which houses the Office of Alumni Relations, has not failed to impress. It features a spacious reception area with a maple hardwood floor, fireplace, bookcases and large bay window that looks out onto the main campus.
