Faculty
Gordon C. Buhrer
Gordon C. Buhrer of Virginia Beach, assistant professor emeritus of management information systems and decision sciences, died Jan. 15, 2000. He was 80.

Buhrer, who retired from Old Dominion in 1990, joined the faculty in 1965 as a part-time lecturer, moving to full time in 1972. He was appointed assistant vice president for academic affairs in 1977 and returned to the classroom in 1986. At the time of his death, he was employed as a teacher at St. Leo College.

In addition to his career at Old Dominion, Buhrer served 30 years in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Drusilla N. Buhrer; and two daughters, Nancy Elizabeth Buhrer of New Jersey and Katherine Buhrer of Virginia Beach.
