Patrick Tow, John Tabb Die
Old Dominion lost two longtime faculty members in August, Patrick Tow and John Tabb.
Tow, chair of the Department of Exercise Science, Sport, Physical Education and Recreation, died unexpectedly Aug. 17 at the age of 51. He had taught at Old Dominion for 26 years.
A trust fund has been established for his two children. Donations may be sent to Kim Baylor, 136 Dover Circle, Norfolk, Va. 23505. Checks should be made payable to the Tow Trust Fund.
Tabb, professor emeritus of economics and the first dean of the School of Business, died Aug. 29. He was 77.
He came to Old Dominion in 1955 and retired 38 years later in 1993. Tabb, who was named dean of the business school in 1958, also later served the university in administrative roles.
