Ticha Penicheiro '98, point guard for the Sacramento Monarchs, was selected as a second-team WNBA All-Star at the close of the 2001 season.

Penicheiro once again led the WNBA in assists at 7.5 per game and ranked 10th in steals. She helped lead the Monarchs to the Western Conference finals, where they fell to the L.A. Sparks.

Adrienne Goodson '88 ranked 18th in the WNBA in scoring (12.3) and averaged 5.4 rebounds per game for the Utah Starzz, who lost to Sacramento in the playoffs.

Mery Andrade '99 averaged 4.8 points and 3.1 assists for the Cleveland Rockers, helping them to the Eastern Conference regular-season title, while Clarisse Machanguana '97 averaged 5.4 points and 4.0 rebounds for the Charlotte Sting, who reached the WNBA finals under their first-year coach, Anne Donovan '83.

Maura McHugh '75 also enjoyed a successful head coaching debut, taking over for Sonny Allen in Sacramento early in the season.
