The Mailbag
A Talented Faculty

Few would disagree that it is the faculty that are the heartbeat of a university. Your article on Dwight Allen and Sushil Chaturvedi ["Dwight Allen and Sushil Chaturvedi Win SCHEV Awards," Summer 2001] brought a smile to my face and a rush of rich memories - memories of Dr. Allen, his soft-spoken, distinguished and very down-to-earth way of advising me on not only content knowledge, but more importantly on the wise and honorable application of that knowledge.

I'd suggest that few students, staff or community members are aware of the richness of the Old Dominion faculty. Continue the coverage of the teaching and research talent so that we can all be more aware of what makes the ODU experience unique and invaluable.
