Meghan Shanley, a May 2001 Old Dominion graduate with a bachelor's degree in
communication, captured the Miss Virginia title in June and competed in the Miss America pageant Sept. 22. She is pictured here with another alumnus, Jerry Duck '77 (left), and Hugh Copeland, an adjunct faculty member at Old Dominion. Duck served as associate producer of the Miss Virginia pageant and Copeland was the producer/director. A resident of Virginia Beach, Shanley, 21, plans to pursue a master's degree in public relations, and her career ambition is to become a country and/or contemporary Christian recording artist.
