George Bush on Campus

Old Dominion's Webb Center was abuzz Jan. 28 when former President George Bush spoke to a packed audience on behalf of his son's bid for the White House. The senior Bush had previously visited the campus in November 1989 when he was president, trying to drum up support for Marshall Coleman in his gubernatorial race against Doug Wilder. Ron Villanueva '92 of Virginia Beach, who is active in state politics and a member of Old Dominion's Board of Visitors, was instrumental in securing Bush's appearance, which was sponsored by the College Republicans.
