Board Hopes To Announce New President In July

Marc Jacobson, rector of the Old Dominion University Board of Visitors (BOV) and chair of the Presidential Search Committee, said in May that the board hopes to announce its selection of a permanent successor to former ODU president Roseann Runte by mid-July 2008, noting that the announcement could come a little earlier or later. He said the start date for the new president will depend on his or her availability.

The search committee, composed of current and former BOV members and representatives from the faculty, staff and alumni, has been meeting since Jan. 17. The board, in February, retained the services of the consulting firm Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates from Media, Pa., to assist in the process.
