Heather Engel, of Toano, Va., got more than a diploma in business management at May commencement. She also got a marriage proposal from her boyfriend, Mike Polsinelli, who met her with a bouquet of flowers and an engagement ring when she stepped off the stage at the Constant Center. Caught by surprise and rendered momentarily speechless, she recovered in time to give her answer: “Yes. Of course!” From her vantage point on stage, Old Dominion President Roseann Runte told the crowd: “Sometimes at graduation, something special happens.”
