JEFFREY W. AINSLIE ’83
Degree: Business administration
City: Virginia Beach
Occupation: President, Ainslie-Widener Inc.
Favorite ODU memory: Identifying just one memory would be impossible, but a typical day might entail: Early breakfast in Webb Center with friends; studying for a quiz or test and planning the weekend activities; sailing class on the Elizabeth River in a brisk morning breeze; then off to our favorite law class with Professor Al Teich; weather permitting, a quick round of tennis with Nick Salamone during lunch before our last class; the infamous afternoon study sessions in the Rathskeller; and, of course, a basketball game at the Field House or Scope, followed by a wrap-up celebration of the win in the 4400 Club!
JACQUELINE B. PETERS ’87
Degree: Business administration
City: Virginia Beach
Occupation: Manager of lease accounting, Dollar Tree Stores Inc.
Favorite ODU memory: My fondest memory took place during the fall semester of my senior year when I was cruising aboard the Spirit of Norfolk for a recruiting function. Little did I know then, but I met the man who would become my husband. He worked for Ernst & Young and was there as a recruiter. Powell and I were married in 1992, and now have a 7-year-old son, Anthony. Another memory is when I and two of my Alpha Kappa Psi brothers, Robert and John, drove to Georgetown, Md. We stopped by American University on the way. John was just a freshman and we had to sneak him into one of the local pubs. I truly enjoyed the time shared with all my friends that I made in college.
CHARLIE C. TROTTER JR. ’94
Degree: Business administration
City: Portsmouth
Occupation: Director of technology, Firma-graphix, and president, C T Web Designs
Favorite ODU memory: My freshman year I met the most beautiful woman I had ever laid eyes upon. Her name was Karen Shell, a sociology major. We met in the BAL Building during an Ebony Impact choir rehearsal. While we were singing songs of praise and worship, the Lord was preparing an everlasting blessing. She became the love of my life and the woman I would soon marry. Today we are blessed with three wonderful children. Not only did I receive a wonderful education while attending ODU, but I also met the woman who would forever be my best friend.
SHEWLING MOY WONG ’87
Degree: Business administration
City: Virginia Beach
Occupation: Vice president, Wong & Associates Accounting
Favorite ODU memory: It was the beginning of my freshman year. One of my best girlfriends and I went to the cafeteria to have lunch, and sat at the only empty table. Less than five minutes later, a group of guys abruptly walked over and slammed their trays down. They told us we were sitting at the “Engineering Table” and needed to move. My friend and I must have looked like deer caught in the headlights, but we refused to move and I kept eating my lunch. They had no choice but to join us. From that clash meeting came years of friendship. We have attended each other’s weddings, all of our families are great friends and, in fact, I even named one of my sons after one of those engineering students.
