Old Dominion brought scholarship donors and recipients together last fall at the annual Hugh L. Vaughan Scholarship Luncheon, which honors the generosity of university benefactors and the desire of students to realize their academic goals. Pictured here are donor Charles Wildermann ’73 of La Plata, Md., and scholarship recipients Crystle Johnson, a senior sociology and criminal justice major from Surry County, Va., and David Harris, a senior computer science major from Virginia Beach. Johnson is a recipient of the Robert F. and Nancy M. Wildermann Endowed Scholarship. The award was established in 2000 by Ms. Wildermann, a 1964 ODU graduate, in memory of her husband, Robert (Charles’ brother), who also was a 1964 graduate. Harris is a recipient of the Dr. James M. Kiernan Memorial Endowment, which was established in 2001 by Charles and his wife, Margaret Bittle Wildermann ’69.
