Field Hockey Team Upset Early In NCAA Tourney

Princeton pulled off a first-round upset in the 2006 NCAA field hockey tournament, defeating third-ranked Old Dominion, 3-2, in overtime. The Lady Monarchs concluded the season at 19-4.

Senior back Caroline Nichols of Virginia Beach was named the Virginia Sports Information Directors Player of the Year. The CAA Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, she was also a first-team All-America selection.
