Twardzik named co-GM of NBA’s Orlando Magic
Former All-American Dave Twardzik ’72 was named co-general manager of the NBA’s Orlando Magic in June. He had served as director of player personnel. As a player, Twardzik helped Portland capture the NBA title in 1977.
Tunnicliffe honored as Sailor of the Year
Anna Tunnicliffe ’05 received the 2005 Quantum Trophy for Women’s Collegiate Sailor of the Year her senior year. Tunnicliffe, of Perrysburg, Ohio, became the first collegiate sailor to win three straight Single-handed National Championships.
Bench is speaker for baseball banquet
Hall of Fame catcher Johnny Bench, a member of the Cincinnati Reds’ 1975 and ’76 world championship teams, will be the speaker and clinician for the Greenwich Kitchens ODU Scholarship Baseball Clinic and ACS Systems Banquet, Jan. 27-28. For tickets: 757-683-5474.
Donovan gets 100th win
Hall of Famer and coach of the WNBA’s Seattle Storm Anne Donovan ’83 recorded her 100th career win in the league in August. She’s the fourth coach in WNBA history and the first woman to reach that milestone.
