Alumni Benefits And Services

As a graduate of Old Dominion University, you are automatically a member of the Alumni Association, a non-dues-paying organization devoted to maintaining ties between the university and its former students. Membership grants you a number of benefits and services, a few of which are described below.

  • University Library Privileges – Alumni are permitted to use the University Libraries by showing their Alumni Association card, which may be obtained from the Office of Alumni Relations. This service is free for one year after graduation and may be renewed annually with a minimum $25 donation to the Dominion Fund.
  • GEICO Auto Insurance Discount – Alumni may be eligible for a discount on insurance provided by GEICO. You must qualify for GEICO’s Preferred Member status to receive the reduced rate. Be sure to let your GEICO representative know you are a member of the Old Dominion University Alumni Association.
  • American Insurance Administrators Health Insurance – AIA provides temporary and long-term health insurance services, as well as a variety of other insurance programs. New alumni can receive free health insurance for the first nine months after their graduation.
  • eRecruiting@CMC – Alumni can sign up for free access to eRecruiting@CMC, a Web-based career-search service available from any computer 24 hours a day, seven days a week. eRecruiting allows users to post their resume, which can be viewed by potential employers, as well as view hundreds of job openings around the country.
  • First USA Visa Card – Show your Monarch spirit with an Old Dominion University Visa card. Purchases you make using this card benefit your Alumni Association, at no extra cost to you!
  • Old Dominion University Magazine – All graduates receive the alumni magazine three times a year free of charge.
  • Alumni Campus Abroad Travel Program – Alumni may participate in travel programs through Alumni Holidays. Upcoming tours include a trip to Tuscany, Italy, June 24 to July 2, 2003, and to Ennis, Ireland, Aug. 20-28, 2003.
