Apply Now to Become an M-Power Peer Educator!   The ODU Women’s Center has a campus wide program called the M-Power Peer Educator Network.  Our purpose is to educate the student body at ODU as an educational resource on the issues of interpersonal violence to include sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. As members of the Women’s Center’s SAFE team, peer educators engage their fellow students in programs and discussions that promote gender equality and a safe, supportive learning environment for all students. Through its presence and programs on the ODU campus, M-Power creates spaces for education, awareness, and positive social change.   While the work of the Peer Educator Program is an important mission within the ODU community, it also provides students with the opportunity to hone a number of skills that will serve them well in the professional world.  These skills include public speaking, responding to difficulty participant questions, influencing peers, and advocating and demonstrating compassion for others.   Please see the attached flyer for more information or feel free to visit the Women’s Center website and visit our M-Power page.  If you are interested in applying to be an M-Power Peer Educator or have any questions or concerns, please contact Karmen Matusek at kmatusek @odu.edu.
