Praxis Core Replaces Praxis I for Educators
<p> This is a reminder that effective January 1, 2014, the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators Test: Reading (5712); Writing (5722); and Mathematics (5732) replaced the Praxis 1 Pre-professional skils test for reading, writing, and mathematics as the assessment for entry into a Virginia approved teacher education program. Individuals who took the Praxis I assessment prior to the December 31, 2013 deadline and meet the criteria are deemed to have taken the prescribed assessment.</p> <p> Candidates who take the Praxis I after January 1, 2014 will be considered to not be meeting the Virginia Department of Education testing requirements for approved teacher education programs.</p> <p> If individuals have questions about the Praxis Core, they may contact the Teacher Education Services and Advising office at 757-683-3348.</p> <p> </p>
