March 20=Mattaponi Queen-Belle Bogg

<p> <strong>March 20</strong>, ODU Virginia Beach event for Women&#39;s History Month&quot; featuring the book &quot;<strong>Mattaponi Queen</strong>&quot; by Belle Boggs.</p> <p> Belle Boggs has written a remarkable book detailing true stories set on and around the Mattaponi Indian Reservation in Virginia. These stories delve into the stark reality and roots of diverse and historical characters. &ldquo;Mattaponi Queen&rdquo; is Belle Boggs&rsquo; debut publication and has been awarded the 2009 Bread Loaf Writers Conference Bakeless Prize.</p> <p> &ldquo;The Mattaponi River is the confluence of three rivers and is also the stunning metaphor for a place where three races have lived inextricable histories for generations. Indeed, the stories in Mattaponi Queen gather like converging waters until the narrative world is coursing and undeniable.&rdquo; Quote by Michelle Latiolais, author of <em>Even Now and a Proper Knowledge.</em></p> <p> There will be a book reading, signing and reception at ODU Virginia Beach on March 20, 2014 at 12:30pm. in the Lecture Hall.</p> <p> The event will also be televised to ODU Peninsula and ODU Tri-Cities Center.</p>
