New Book by Blake Bailey Arriving Soon
<p> The Village Bookstore will soon be offering the new book by Blake Bailey,<strong> " The Splendid Things We Planned:</strong><strong>A Family Portrait." </strong>Bailey, the Mina Hohenberg Professor of Creative Writing, has achieved acclaim for his earlier work as:</p> <p> Winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award and finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, Blake Bailey has been hailed as “addictively readable” (<em>New York Times</em>) and praised for his ability to capture lives “compellingly and in harrowing detail” (<em>Time</em>). <em>The Splendid Things We Planned</em> is his darkly funny account of growing up in the shadow of an erratic and increasingly dangerous brother, an exhilarating and sometimes harrowing story that culminates in one unforgettable Christmas.</p> <p> The book is scheduled to be published next week, March 3, and we hope to have it available as soon as possible.</p> <p> This work and many other works by ODU Faculty and Staff are available at the Village Bookstore.</p> <p> For more information, please call 683-0048.</p> <p> </p>
