NEW!  iPad Workshop Series

 n this two-part series, you will review a variety of apps designed to support your use of the iPad in teaching and discuss the concept of storytelling as an instructional activity. 

 In the first session, A Sampling of Teaching Apps for your iPad, you'll learn about iBooks, iThoughtsHD, Evernote, PDF Expert, Keynote, Numbers, Educreations, Dropbox, iTunesU, Dragon Dictation, Flipboard, Ted, Skype, Adobe Connect, and FaceTime, many of which offer unique ways to engage and enrich your students’ learning experience.

 In the second session, Storytelling with Your iPad, you will review several apps designed to allow you (or your students) to design and produce a three- to five-minute digital story related to your course content. Participants will record audio video segments and use still images to illustrate their narrative. Apps include IdeaSketch, iMovie, iPhoto, Creative Book Builder, Sonic Pics, Explain Everything, and Total Recall.

Adobe Connect

 

Adobe Connect is an online meeting tool where faculty and students can engage in synchronous collaboration using text, audio, and video. Participants in online meetings can also share applications and a whiteboard during the meeting. This is a two part series that must be taken in sequence.

(1) In the "Basics Workshop" participants will learn the "basics" of using the online meeting interface.

(2) In the "Beyond the Basics Workshop" participants will explore and practice using the many "beyond basics" features and tools as they relate to content presentation, student presentation, collaboration, document sharing, small group work, recordings, and more.

To accommodate recent demand, a new series has been added.  Seats are filling up fast!

Blackboard: Open Topic

Please note that REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for the open topic sessions.

Have you wanted to ask a question about how to accomplish something in Blackboard but couldn't find a workshop topic about it? Now you can come to one (or more) of these two-hour open house sessions to ask your question and to get help with your tasks.  Instructional designers and technology specialists will be available to assist you.

ODUEdit for Faculty

This workshop focuses on utilizing ODUEdit for faculty and instructional purposes. In this workshop, faculty and their teaching assistants will learn the basics of ODUEdit by using the online authoring tool to build and edit a Web site. No prior experience with ODUEdit is required.
