Chord Whose Roots Are a ThirdApart
Four Voices
In four voices this is perhaps the easiest of the connection
procedures to implement.
a. Retain the TWO COMMON
TONES in the same voices
b. Move the remaining voice stepwise

Three Voices
In ascending roots of a third, do
not omit the fifth in the second chord. If the fifth is missing the
chord has an aural effect of being a first inversion of the same chord
instead of being a completely different chord.
