Minor scale has half steps between the 2nd and 3rd degrees and between the 5th and 6th degrees of the scale. This scale is referred to as the Natural or Pure form of the minor scale.

Parallel Major/Minor
Major and minor keys which share the same tonic (e.g. D major and D minor) are called Parallel keys.

Relative Major/Minor
Major and minor keys which share the same key signature (e.g. D major and B minor) are called Relative keys.

The 6th degree of a major scale is the name of the relative
minor.
The 3rd degree of a minor scale is the name of the relative
major.
Circle of Fifths - Major and Minor
The Harmonic minor scale is derived by merely raising the 7th scale degree of the natural minor scale.

Melodic Minor
The Melodic minor scale is derived by raising both the 6th and 7th scale degrees of the natural minor scale. (Although not always so) conventionally the descending form of the melodic minor reverts to the natural minor.

The first 5 degrees of all forms of the minor scale are identical. Only
the 6th and 7th degrees change for the respective forms.
