WHEN and WHERE?
The Modern Language Association's Proficiency Exam (MLA) is offered on the following dates at Old Dominion University:

- Register for the MLA Exam: (1) fill out the registration form and (2) send it to the Director with your payment.
- Secure a visitor's pass from the Parking Services Office (see below)
- Report to the Language Learning Center: 339 Batten Arts & Letters Building (BAL)
- Arrive on time. Late arrivals will not be allowed to sit for the exam after it begins
- Be sure to have a No. 2 pencil. No other materials are allowed.
- Results of the exam will be mailed to your home address within 4-6 weeks after the exam and to the Department of Education in Richmond, Virginia. The Language Learning Center will keep all exam results on file.
- In the event of technical difficulties in the LLC, examinees will be notified of cancellation and a new date for the MLA Exam will be scheduled.
