Scholarships
Five scholarships are awarded annually by the Art Department to students within its programs. Students apply for all available scholarships at one time. Winners are selected by Department faculty, either through a portfolio review or paper submission process. Application forms and information about applying can be found at the Art Department blog.
Some scholarships are need-based and in addition to the Departmental application, require a FAFSA (U.S. Department of Education's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (available here.)
The Charles K. Sibley Fine Arts and Art History Scholarship
Established in honor of former Old Dominion University Professor Charles Sibley.
Eligibility: for graduate or undergraduate students majoring in studio art or art history. (Portfolio for studio, paper for art history majors)
The Ralph and Charlotte Margolius Scholarship
Eligibility: full-time student enrolled in the B.F.A., B.A. with studio major, B.A. in art education or the M.A./M.F.A. program in Visual Studies. (Portfolio)
The Barbara M. Gorlinsky Memorial Fine Arts Scholarship
Endowed by the Gorlinsky family in memory of their daughter.
Eligibility: part time fine arts major with demonstrated financial need must have at least a 2.5 GPA (Portfolio and FAFSA)
ELIGIBILITY FOR FINANCIAL NEED-BASED AWARDS
All continuing students who wish to be considered for scholarships based on financial need must submit a FAFSA form (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
