THEATRE MAJOR:

Dance 185A : Dance and It's Audience
Theatre 189: Foundations of Performance
Theatre 230: Drama for Production
Theatre 242: Acting I
Theatre 244: Introduction to Production Design
Theatre 248: Introduction to Stage Makeup
Theatre 343 & 344: Theatre History I & II
Theatre 442: Principles of Directing
Theatre 449: Script and Performance Analysis
Theatre 499: Senior Project
Theatre Activities (4 Credit Hours of which 2 of the 4 hours must be earned in production experience)

THEATRE ELECTIVES:
A Minimum of 12 Credit Hours must be earned to fulfill this area. (Dance courses may be used to fulfill this requirement).

A TOTAL OF AT LEAST EIGHTEEN (18) THEATRE OR DANCE ELECTIVE CREDIT HOURS MUST BE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED AT THE 300 OR 400 LEVEL.

AT LEAST 24 THEATRE HOURS MUST BE TAKEN AT OLD DOMINION UNIVERSITY.

STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE COMPOSITION CLASSES WITH A GRADE OF "C" OR BETTER BEFORE DECLARING A MAJOR.

THEATRE MAJORS MUST HAVE A "C" OR BETTER IN ALL COURSE COUNTED TOWARDS THEIR MAJOR.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE IN THEATRE WITH AN EMPHASIS IN DIGITAL FILMMAKING

General Education Requirements are the same (See above). Students must have completed Theatre/Communication 270A before declaring a major in Digital Filmmaking.
The Emphasis requires a completion of 47 credit hours between core courses and upper level electives:

Theatre/Communication 446: Directing for the Camera (3)
Theatre/Communication 471: International Film History (3)
Theatre/Communication 479: American Film History (3)
Theatre 483: Advanced Video Project (3)
Theatre 499: Senior Project (1)

Upper Level Electives (17 Hours) can be taken from the following list (plus approved topics courses at the 300/400 level)

NOTES:
A total of at least 18 theatre hours must be at the 300-400 level.

At least 24 theatre hours must be taken at Old Dominion University.

Students must complete composition classes with a grade of "C" or better before declaring a major in Theatre with an emphasis in Digital Filmmaking.

Majors must maintain a "C" or better in all courses counted towards their major.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE IN THEATRE WITH AN
EMPHASIS IN THEATRE EDUCATION

General Education Requirements are the same (See above).

Theatre BA Requirements are the same (See above) but must include the following:
Theatre 489: Methods of Teaching Theatre
Theatre 490: Theatre Education Practicum

Theatre Electives require a minimum of seven (7) credit hours at the 300/400 level. It is strongly advised that the Theatre Education major focus their electives in the area of production and design technology.

PRAXIS I Passed
Application for admission to the College of Education
