Regulations and Restrictions

All motor vehicles parked in facilities owned or operated by the University must be registered and display a valid decal. The registered owner of a motor vehicle is responsible for all violations incurred by the vehicle regardless of who is operating the vehicle. However, persons who register vehicles with the University will incur secondary responsibility, and may be subject to University administrative action for parking violations.

Time of restrictions

  1. Decal regulations are enforced in commuter, resident and overflow lots every day and night except on weekends (4 p.m. Friday through Sunday).
  2. Regulations are enforced at all times in faculty/staff evening program lots (exception is between 4 p.m. Friday and 12:01 a.m. Monday).
  3. Decals are due the first day of each semester.

Unauthorized Use of Decal
Disposal or acceptance of any decal or pass through sale or gift is forbidden and may constitute fraud against the Commonwealth of Virginia.
