Violation Control

Vehicles in violation of these regulations are subject to citations, immobilization, and/towing at owner's expense. No motor vehicle operator will:

  1. Exceed the 15 m.p.h. speed limit on any campus street or in campus parking facilities. The speed limit in the parking decks is 10 miles per hour.
  2. Park on grassy areas or sidewalks, in driveways, crosswalks, crosshatches, painted curbs, and wherever "No Parking" signs are posted. NOTE: A grassy area is considered to be grass, mulched or any non-paved or unimproved area where it is intended or desirable to grow grass.
  3. Double-park, block another parked vehicle, obstruct fire lanes and fire hydrants, or park in a manner that obstructs the normal flow of traffic.
  4. Speed or drive recklessly so that life and/or property are endangered.
  5. Drive in areas other than streets or parking facilities.
  6. Park on campus without a valid ODU decal or pass.
  7. Display a counterfeit, altered, defaced or illegally transferred decal or pass.
  8. Occupy more than one parking space.
  9. Fail to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
  10. Park in a meter controlled space without paying the meter fee.
  11. Park in any area not marked or bound by lines or curb stops on three sides to delineate a parking space.
  12. Sell, give away, or take an ODU valid decal.
