Dear Colleague:

Governor McAuliffe has made his appointments to the Boards of Old Dominion University and the other colleges and universities across the Commonwealth, effective July 1, 2014.

I want to congratulate Fred Whyte, our current rector, who was reappointed to another four-year term, and offer my sincere thanks to Jeff Ainslie, Dee Gilmore and Luke Hillier for their incredible service to the University during the four years they served as appointees of Governor McDonnell. I also want to thank Marc Jacobson, former rector, who has served on the Board since 2004 and was ineligible for reappointment. While we look forward to celebrating their contributions during the June Board meeting, a more formal ceremony will be held at the President's House in conjunction with the annual Board Reunion to recognize their service to the Board and the University.

I also ask you to join me in welcoming to the Board the following four new members:
