Across the Campus – A Photo Essay

Spring is in the air, on the vine and at the ballpark at ODU. And although our early taste of warm spring weather abandoned us for much of last week, the usual seasonal activities and floral growth continued to be in evidence throughout the campus. The good news is that warmer weather is promised for the week ahead.

Engineering Student Team Ready to Share Algae-Processing Technique at EPA Competition

The experimental nutrient extraction process for algae fuel has been tested and verified. The value of creating a "closed loop" process to develop biofuels from algae has been demonstrated. The team of eight ODU engineering students has submitted a report with its findings. Now all that's left is to demonstrate the year of hard work at the Environmental Protection Agency's P3 (People, Prosperity and the Planet) competition on the National Mall.

Funding Announced for Faculty-led Projects Aimed at Improving Disciplinary Writing

Old Dominion's Improving Disciplinary Writing (IDW) initiative, led by Remica Bingham-Risher, has announced the awarding of four action projects for the 2014-15 academic year. Total funding for the projects is $78,334.

Attucks Theatre Will Be Stage for Premiere of Two Monumental Works by Adolphus Hailstork

The I. Sherman Green Chorale, the Diehn Chorale of Old Dominion University, the Schola Cantorum and the Eastern Virginia Brass will join their talents April 28 at Norfolk's Attucks Theatre for "Remember and Rejoice," a sesquicentennial musical commemoration of the Civil War with a world premiere work by ODU's Adolphus Hailstork.
