AUA, Women's Caucus Present 'Myths and Realities of Administrative/Professional Faculty'

The Association of University Administrators (AUA) and the University Women's Caucus (UWC) will present "Myths and Realities of Administrative/Professional Faculty" from 3-5 p.m. Friday, March 28, in Room 1310 of the Learning Commons at Perry Library.

Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by March 14 to Nicole Justice at njustice@odu.edu.

The goal of this program is to educate AP faculty about some of the myths and realities of their employee class, but also to generate awareness of any concerns of AP faculty as they relate to working for the university, and how AUA and UWC can help. Panel participants will include members of the Human Resources Department and other offices on campus.

Example topics will include:

  • Why be an AP faculty member? (i.e., benefits of the employee class and comparison to others)
  • Tuition assistance
  • Job sharing
  • Compensation review
  • Discipline matters
  • Leave policies (for current and separating employees)
  • How to ensure a family-friendly work environment given AP policies
  • Miscellaneous other topics.
