12th Annual Hoops for the Cure Game Set for Feb. 15

Get your pink on for the 12th annual Hoops for the Cure game when the Lady Monarchs host C-USA foe UTEP at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Constant Center.

The annual event celebrates breast cancer survivors and their families and the fight to find a cure for breast cancer. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with a Women's Health Fair in the lobby, and the traditional pregame Survivor Walk on the arena floor begins at 6:45 p.m.

The first 1,000 fans will receive a pink T-shirt, compliments of Bon Secours In Motion Physical Therapy and Sports Performance.

This year's contest will mark the one-year anniversary of the death of Sara Jones, a volunteer assistant to ODU head coach Karen Barefoot, who battled the disease for more than 10 years.

Breast cancer survivors are encouraged to call the Tidewater affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure office at 490-7794 to receive a free game ticket. Game tickets are also available for purchase at YNotTix.com and at the box office at the Constant Center. Type in the word "Pink" under the promotional code section online to have a portion of your ticket purchase support Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
