Nominations Due Feb. 14 for Student Employee of the Year Competition
Each year the Career Management Center makes it a point to recognize student employees for their contributions and achievements at work. It is now time for campus supervisors to nominate their student employees for Student Employee of the Year - Old Dominion University.
The CMC is looking for a student worker who exhibits the assets of reliability, high quality of work, initiative, attitude and overall professionalism. A panel of judges at ODU will select the top three finalists and name the winner.
Every nominee will be invited to an award ceremony. ODU's winner will then be submitted to the regional Southern Association of Student Employment Administrators pool and, if selected, will win cash prize and a plaque of recognition as SASEA Regional Student Employee of the Year. The regional winner is then one of the quarterfinalists in the national competition and will have the opportunity to become National Student Employee of the Year.
The nomination form only takes minutes to fill out and is open to all student employees. Please address the following attributes when writing your letter: reliability, quality of work, initiative, attitude, professionalism and uniqueness of contribution. Make the nomination letter or attached form as comprehensive as possible in order to give your nominee the best chance to win this award.
Submissions and supporting nomination letters (on official office letterhead) must be received on or before noon on Feb. 14 for consideration. Please email your nominations, or send them by campus mail. For more information contact Ebonie Robinson, ecouther@odu.edu, or Jay McCord, jmccord@odu.edu.
