Global Certificate Program Offers Variety of Workshops This Semester

Are you a faculty/staff member or graduate assistant who is interested in gaining useful cultural skills and knowledge to better work with and/or better serve international community? If so, the Global Certificate Program is right for you.

To help meet the needs of employees who are working with our global population, International Student and Scholar Services and the Department of Human Resources offer workshops on the issues and skills relevant to serving international populations. Through the program, participants can earn a certificate upon the completion of six sessions. Ten sessions are offered each academic year.

The following sessions are scheduled for the remainder of the spring semester. All sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to noon in the Portsmouth Room of Webb Center.

  • Feb. 12 - Communicating Effectively with International Students and Scholars"
  • March 5 - Crash Course in Saudi Arabian Culture
  • March 26 - Low-context and High-context Cultures
  • April 16 - Country Skills: South America.
