Virginia Early Childhood Foundation President to Speak at Darden College Symposium
PNC Bank and Old Dominion's Darden College of Education will hold the Early Childhood Symposium, an executive-level professional development workshop, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club.
Kathy Glazer, president of the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation, is the keynote speaker for the symposium, which will include the following breakout sessions for participants:
- Katie Squibb, "Virginia Star Quality Initiative: The Last Five Years" - This session will update participants on the development of Virginia's Star Quality Initiative and provide information about future directions for QRIS (Quality Rating and Improvement System) in Virginia.
- Christine John, "Infant & Toddler Specialist Network" - Information will be presented about the network, which strives to improve the quality of care and education of infants and toddlers, increase the education level and competencies of infant and toddler caregivers, and promote community connections to increase awareness of resources that support healthy, safe and nurturing care for infants and toddlers.
