Computer Sale Set for Oct. 16 at Property Control Warehouse

The Department of Procurement Services' Property Control Office will conduct a set sale of surplus Dell, Gateway and Lenovo brand desktop computers Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. to noon, or until the last item is sold, whichever occurs first. The sale is open to faculty, staff, students and the general public.

Computers will be sold for $80 each and will include a power cord. Keyboard and mouse will be given to purchasers of both a computer and monitor until supplies last. Computers will be pre-loaded with a Microsoft Windows XP operating system (Gateway and a few Lenovo brands) or a Windows Vista Business operating system (Dell and some Lenovo brands). Also, included in the sale will be a limited quantity of Dell, Gateway and Lenovo brand flat panel computer monitors priced at $20 each, including power cord and associated video cable. Due to the limited quantity offered, computers and monitors will be sold on a first-come, first-serves basis. There will be a maximum limit of two systems per customer.

Payment must be made at the time the customer selects a computer and/or monitor. All purchased equipment must be picked up on the same day as the purchase and no later than 4:30 p.m. No sale previews will be allowed. The sale location is at ODU's Property Control Warehouse in the Facilities Management Building, 4401 Powhatan Ave. Parking is available in Lot 43. Sales are cash only/exact change.
